'Wedding Dinners never starts on time'

Saturday was hectic! Like it couldn’t have been worse, I slept late on Friday night or rather Saturday morning at 3am. So I woke up at 8am and prepared myself for the events to be happening that day. I reached school at 10am for AMC and seriously Saturday classes are the worst. The only consolation was attending a worthwhile lesson with one humorous lecturer. Lesson ended promptly at 1pm and I stayed for another 20 minutes for our project discussion. Work to be done was instructed before I departed for my next destination.

So I rushed down to The Arts House for ‘The Complaints Choir’ and well was slightly late. I joined in the warm up before the recordings followed by the performance scheduled at 3pm. Recordings for the video was basically dry and not as fun as I thought it should be. We took so many takes I think they were practically excellent warm ups for my throat. Performance was amazing; especially the first one since it was the one with the biggest crowd. I wasn’t expecting such a big crowd due to the controversy between the foreign performers in the choir and the authorities of Singapore and all the last minute fire fighting and arrangement and changes in venue. I was awestruck the moment I entered the chamber and am sure I forgotten how to walk for like 0.5ms.

The performance was filled with uptight souls at start but everyone starts to relax and loosen up midway into the song but I must say it was overall a good first performance for us. The second performance at 6.30pm was way better since everyone went in with energy and power. It was energetic and I am very sure there was no complains from the audiences. There was an added ‘Questions and Answers’ session which spiced up the whole event even more. The performance was wrapped up with one last bit of singing from us when the audience asked for encore.

The performance ended at 7.30pm and I was pretty late for my friend’s wedding dinner. The whole thing should start at 8pm but then again, wedding dinners never starts on time. I reached Hotel Royal at 8.30pm and dinner was actually served at 9pm. Congrats to Jasmine Neo! She was lovely that day, not that she don’t look good on any other days but she did look fairy-like on that day. No wonder they say girls look best in their wedding gowns. 10-course meal was served and I was actually feeling full on the 4th dish. It was a very fulfilling dinner for me that night and we left at 11.30pm, all with bloated stomachs.

I was expecting the night to end here until one of them suggested hanging out longer since everyone haven’t met each another for like ages. We settled for KTV at Clementi and sang until 2plus before we call it a day. I got home feeling tired, stinky and warm from the alcohols during the dinner. After bathing, checking of my email and preparation for the next day, I felt my bed at 5pm.
