Tissues~

For once Sunday was not a soccer day for me. I worked hard today! Actually I only gave out tissues to inform people that OCBC Bank will be operating on Sunday too. It was really only about standing and distributing... Time ticked slowly. So slow, I thought Monday will never come!

Basically my job scope is to distribute free tissues and informing them that the bank will be opened on Sunday from 11am to 7pm and there was some really interesting observation during that long stand.

1) People shun me as if I was holding bomb instead of tissues.
2) They asked me, 'Is it 11AM till 7PM?’ Which bank opens in the night?
3) They told me, 'I got already before I can ask them anything.' Worse still, they have nothing in their hand!
4) Some even walk past me as if I was transparent!!! I can never do that!
5) Lastly, they should really be polite. Can't they even turn down anyone kindly? With a smile or just a nob?

After today, I swear I will take any flyers or freebies from others in future.

Another bad incident happened during the last 2 hours of work today. As you all know I am distributing tissues today. One stupid old 'ah ma' came near my booth and started selling tissues... "Yi kuai, yi kuai, yi kuai~~"(One dollar)!!! Being the kind-hearted young man I have always been, I informed my supervisor. He came, got conquered and escaped! Apparently, he tried to explain the situation to the old lady but got chased away probably because the old lady felt threat. He came to me and told me he couldn't do anything and encouraged me to carry on while escaping off to another booth. I was left there being cursed and swear by the old lady for 2 hours. I have never absorbed so many vulgarities and insults yet being so quiet in my life. She got lucky for being old if not I am very sure at least 1 hundred brown fist is gonna land on her wrinkled face. So much for being kind!

That aside, today was alright. At least there was some income. Tomorrow will be a brighter day!

Potentially & In Reality

Youngest Son: "Tell me Daddy, what is the difference between ’Potentially' and 'In reality'."

Dad: "I will show you."

Dad turns to his wife and asks her: "Would you sleep with Robert Redford for 1 million dollars?"

Wife: "Yes of course, I would never waste such an opportunity!"

Then Dad asks his daughter if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for 1 million dollars.

Daughter: "Wow! Yes! This is my fantasy!"

So Dad turns to his elder son and asks him: "Would you sleep with Tom Cruise for 1 million dollars?"

Elder Son: "Yeah, Why not? Imagine what I could do with 1 million dollars! I would never hesitate!"

So the father turns back to his younger son saying: "You see son, 'Potentially' we are sitting on 3 million dollars but 'In reality' we are living with 2 bitches and 1 gay!!"
