A very good new year to you all and may the year of ox brings you more hardworking form and brings you great health. Greater wealth for all in this period of recession and may all wishes come true. 2008 wasn't at all that bad for me and I hope 2009 will carry on the luck and better still be better.

On New year day, Cherng and Tanny suggested going for a small trekking trip at HSBC Tree top. I gladly accepted the offer with Sylvia. We left as early as 7am to Clementi for breakfast before moving on to MacRitchie Reservoir to start the trail. We started at 8.30 am and completed the trail at 12.00pm. 11km of trail in the forest was fun and refreshing. Midway through the trail, we reached the highest point of the treetop which range around 25m to 27m that was connected by a suspension bridge. The trail is fun if you are tired of cars, buildings, noise or just the city. It benefits us and gives us a chance to get connected with the nature to look at squirrels, monkeys, trees, mushrooms, fishes, insects and many others Plus a short form of exercise. Enjoyed the trail since you don't do it that often and you should really visit it once a while to walk away the accumulated stress you have.

Its about lunch time after the walk and we had our lunch at Jurong Point, Benten Cafe. Its a Japanese resturant that 'combines the strengths of both Eastern and Western culinary skills' as stated by them. Overall I don't like where the resturant is situated at. Its placed in the middle of the walkway and when you eat, people walk and look at you like some animals. The seats were comfortable but kinda small and crampy place in my opinion. The food was average but slightly on the costly side and wasn't of the fantastic kind but since I'm hungry, anything goes.

2.7/5 stars

We had:
1) Pork Cutlet Curry Rice
2) Salmon and Mushroom Cream Pasta
3) Seafood Spaghetti
4) Green Tea Azuki Parfait
5) Strawberry Pudding

After our meal and a short rest, I went off to Steven's house for a dinner gathering. Yes, the gap in between my meals are that short but seriously the food was fantastic enough for me to go for that round. Simply fabulous for a home gathering meal. I will just let the pictures do the talking. We watched Nonya show and had our card game. Basically you have to put the card on your forehead and not allowed to look at the cards. Smallest card lose and you only get to change the card from the deck once after analysing whether you own the smallest card from asking around. Everyone gets a turn to pour drinks into a card and loser will have to do the forfeit by drinking the weird drink that was mixed. We had soft drinks, beer, bai hua cha and even ba gua... The good thing was everyone gets a chance to lose. Meals at Steven's house was alway nice and a memory not to be forgotten. I'm alreadying waiting for the next year's one to come! :D

We had Sushi!!! And there was pizza for appetizer but was quickly devoured.

This packet of Hokkien Mee cost 6 dollars a packet but taste not too bad.

Our Main Course - Grilled Chicken with self made sauce by Steven! There's ham underneath the chicken!!!

Steven doing the host of serving us ice and sparkling apple and strawberry juice. Nice!

Our group photo before leaving for Enuos MRT station. We were actually puzzled why we didn't take any pictures in the house. Lol.
