It has been a week plus since I started work and I am still trying to adjust my 'nua' lifestyle to my new work. Its pretty tiring I must say...
Despite major news and happenings around the work, say...
- Air France Flight 447 with 228 on board that crashed into the atlantic ocean;
- North Korea's testing of nuclear weapons despite objections from other nations & their convicting of a pair of US journalists;
- Urge to bring Gordon Brown down as PM with Mr Purnell being the fifth minister to march out of cabinet,
- And not forgetting the ongoing Recession...
I must say many people are forgetting about pleasure/disgust/amusement of the random things that are ongoing in their life.
I remembered barely a week ago while travelling to work on the train, I was seated next to a guy on this super crowded train. He was on the phone and I can't really be bothered with him except that his tone was a tad too high for me to take a nap. So I stayed awake and that's when I noticed the guy's other hand that was not on the phone moving briskly around his bag. I was thinking, 'What the heck? First the tone, now his hand...' and took a glimpse only to see a tiny cockroach running for its dear life after making its way out of the guy's bag and the guy was obviously trying to catch it either to hide his embrassment that he is one dirty fellow or perhaps to keep it as a pet...
His attempt failed since he is no martial art expert in catching 'xiao qiang' but those attempts gained more attention and glares. Two ladies standing in front of him particularly had 500% increase in their heartbeats and would have thought they accomplished some amazing feat by just standing there since there wasn't much room for manoeuvre due to the pack.
Obviously, I was in a more panic state and had my eyes glued to the cockroach just in hope it moves another direction, far away from me. I maintained my cool by not having the greatest of reaction and sat still but deep down my thoughts, I was looking out for some elderly that I could offer my seat to (Ok, mean but I alway do give up seats anyway just that I was super eager this time round) or simply just to stand up and move off. The only fortunate thing that happened was the cockroach managed to make past numbers of giant foot-pillars and make its way... up a guy's pants. I had wanted to shout out to him but he was way too far away for me to do so.
The interchange was at the next stop and more space were available. The guy left the train and the cockroach and the two pale looking ladies walked further away from the danger zone and I remain seated but still with eyes glued to the tiny one...
What a long article for something so random and meaningless... some might say but you don't call if random if it was not so long. Point is despite the major event that are going on, don't neglect the on going interesting things that are happening still.
